About the International Christian School of Vienna
The International Christian School of Vienna (ICSV) started in 1986 by missionaries who were working in the former Soviet Union. The main focus was on educating the missionary children whose parents were serving in the field. At that time it was known as the Vienna Christian School since that is where it is based. When the borders opened and the Soviet Union fell the school decided to open its doors to the broader public including Austrian nationals as well as the international community. The main reason for this was the school wanted to reach out and have a larger influence on the local and broader community through Christian education.

The decision was a good one and the school now has approximately 250 students with 50 nations represented in the K-12th grade school. In 2010 the school changed its name from the Vienna Christian School to the International Christian School of Vienna in order to recognize and embrace their international community. In 2015, ICSV became an IB World School and offers the Diploma Programme to its 11th and 12th graders. ICSV is also holds accreditation with ACSI, ECIS, and the Schulamt der Freikirchen in Osterreich.

In addition to an American curriculum and IB status, the school also has many different extra-curricular activities for students. They are part of the Danube Valley Athletic Conference where sports teams from Vienna, Salzburg, Bratislava, and Budapest compete. In terms of performing arts, there are three drama productions per year as well as choral concerts. The high school offers a monthly Coffeehaus where students are able to come and meet in an informal setting to encourage community. There are also opportunities for students to go on mission trips to Romania and Bosnia.
