After returning from Malta, I was in Austria for about a day before going back to Switzerland! I was there for about a week and it was so amazing to be back and see my friends and host family. I stayed the first part of the week with one of my friends, Necia, who lives in Lausanne. It was so great catching up with her and being in the city for those couple of days. One of the highlights we did together was going to see "Aladdin" in the movie theater. It was great for me to brush up on my French too and I was surprised how much I remembered after not speaking it for so long.

After spending two days at her place, I went to stay with my host family for a few days. It was crazy to me to see how much the girls have grown in just a year. When I was there, they were still finishing up school but I was able to see them at lunch and we hung out after school too. It was a great time of reconnecting with the family and I soaked up every minute of it. This was also when a huge heat wave was going through Europe and it was so nice that we could go swimming in the afternoons when it was the hottest. I don't think I was ever as happy to be in a pool as those couple days when I was with them. Since I'm staying in Europe for most of the summer, this was a good introduction to a huge heat wave without air conditioning. I just hope my body has adjusted so the next time it won't feel as bad. That's the crazy thing about not having air conditioning--your body just starts adjusting to the heat and you get used to not having air conditioning so it doesn't feel as hot. Feel free to disagree, but I know most North Americans use their air conditioning to the extreme in summer so your body really doesn't have a chance to adjust to what is happening outdoors.

I spent the last part of the week staying at another friends house, Angelina, and catching up with her and her housemate, Sarah. It was such a nice visit and Angelina is a great cook so I definitely ate well while staying with them.

I know this isn't a super long post but nothing too interesting happened in the week while I was there. You know catching up with old friends isn't that mind boggling but it's good for the soul? That's what this visit really felt like to me and I enjoyed every single minute being there and present with my friends.
