I'm Official! Praise the Lord

Two days after my previous post, I received an email from Samantha, the HR representative at ICSV, saying that my visa has been approved!! I'll have to go next week and pick up my physical visa which means I'll need to take a morning off school, go sit at a bureaucratic building, and pay money to get a plastic card that says I can legally reside and work in Austria. Thankfully, Samantha will be going with me and will do all the official talking since I don't speak German. The visa I'll be receiving is the Rot-Weis-Rot card which is valid for two years so I don't have to go through this process next year! This is a change from previous policy where the Rot-Weis-Rot card was initially a one year visa that had to be renewed at the end of that period.

So in conclusion, thank you for your prayers! Throughout this journey I have seen God's hand at work in providing for me and this is just another example! This is the fastest ICSV has seen a first-time visa application go through--it only took 2 months and a few days! There are still some people at the school who are trying to renew their visas and they haven't gotten their confirmation yet so please continue to pray for them as they are waiting on the government to get it all sorted out.

Now that I'm an official staff member, Ms. L will be leaving and moving on to what God is calling her to do. I'm so glad that I was able to work with her and learn from her during the time she was at ICSV. She gave me valuable insights into the students I'll be working with and shared a lot of her tricks and strategies to help these students as well. She'll be missed by all but everyone is also excited that I can officially start too!
