How is it that I leave in 6 days?! It's crazy to think that just 31 days ago I received the email that offered me the Learning Support (LS) job at ICSV! Wow, a month really does fly by and God has been so good to me over the last month. I've been able to say my good-byes to most everyone and though my parents are in denial that I'm leaving in under a week they are happy for me as well. This week is my last week at my different babysitting jobs and my part-time job at the Disney Store so all that's left is the packing. Thankfully, I've gone through that process before so it is a little easier. It's also nice to know that if I do forget certain items, I can buy them once I arrive in Austria. Well, the other thing I have left to do is learn German :/ My time in Switzerland didn't help me much in that regard since I was in the French speaking area. But with the help of some free apps and online programs I'll be on my way soon enough and hopefully speaking conversational German soon! But ICSV is an English speaking school so it won't be a problem when I'm teaching!
Then again, before going to Austria I'm going to Switzerland!! I'm flying from Philadelphia to Geneva via Reykjavik on the 29th of July and then staying with some friends for a few days in Switzerland! I'll be able to be there for their Independence Day which will be fun considering the fact that last year I left Switzerland on that day. I'll also be able to see my host family from last year and I'm excited to see how the kids have grown and changed over the course of a year. I know the kids I babysat for this past year in the States have changed so much so it'll be interesting to see how my Swiss kids have matured over the last school year.
Then quite early in the morning (think 7AM) on August 3rd I have my flight from Geneva to Vienna! I'll have the weekend to adjust and move myself in before New Hire Orientation starts on August 6th. The following week is Teacher/Staff Orientation and the students first day is the 22!
I'm so excited to see what God will be able to do through me and how I'll be able to impact the lives of my students. As I make this move, I am in need of your prayers! Please pray that my transition goes smoothly and I'll be able to adjust to living and working at ICSV without any major problems. Pray for the students and parents who are starting the new school year that they will be receptive to hearing the Gospel from the teachers and staff at ICSV. Lastly, pray for the teachers and staff at ICSV that they will be able to reach their students and show them Christ's love.
